About Ingrain Studio

What an extraordinary 35 years of building and creating it’s been!

Beginning as a young woman with a passion for creativity but limited experience, I was fortunate to connect with mentors who recognized my dedication and eagerness to learn. Working for free on Wednesdays and Saturdays, my career officially began with a woodturning apprenticeship, which grew into my first business partnership. This first step paved the way for a remarkable 12 year teaching experience at the Kansas City Art Institute. Swear I learned as much from those students as they may have from me! As I further evolved, I ventured into full-time metal fabrication. Then, remarkably found myself project managing and fabricating complex, ambitious projects for visionary artists. All of this leading to my dream moment: Being a self-employed artist, woodworker, fabricator - with a dedicated fabrication shop.

At Ingrain studio, we believe in the power of craftsmanship. Founded with a deep love for both woodworking and metalworking, these 35 years have taught me to combine time-honored techniques with innovative design. But above all, my commitment to quality, leads me to approach each project with meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to excellence.

When you choose Ingrain Studio, you’re not just hiring a service, nor partnering with just me, but a small team of dedicated artisans who are also passionate about craft.
